I have been a potter with the Madison Potters Guild for a number of years.  Each of us produce our work in our own studios but also rent a space for glazing and firing our work.

All of my work I’ve fired in gas kilns-2300 degrees. I love the richness and matt tones obtained from gas firing.

I became fascinated with glazes, how they flow in the kiln,  and how this movement can be controlled for the desired aesthetic effect. Because the focus is on the glaze effects, I tend to keep my shapes simple. I make functional objects because I think it’s great for artwork to be used as well.
