Margaret Lockwood: artist/owner

Margaret’s artist statement: I constantly desire to paint canvases that create the feeling of space. My tools are color relationships, layers of atmosphere and rhythmic interludes. I want each work to gently welcome viewers into a peaceful place within the painting and within themselves.

Margaret Lockwood is owner and resident artist of Woodwalk Gallery ijust south of Egg Harbor.  She is know throughout the region for her large, ethereal, Door County landscapes.  She “painted” with fibers as a tapestry weaver for 13 years, then received her MFA in painting from Fontbonne College in St. Louis.  Her work has been included in numerous juried, individual and group exhibits throughout the Midwest, including the Wisconsin Triennial, a retrospective at the Guenzel Gallery and a solo exhibit at the Fairfield Center for the Arts.  Woodwalk Galelry features an historic 1890’s Door County barn and the work of 45 regional artists, an events center, sculpture field, SiloSpace and labyrinth.

Hi Margaret,
This is Mary Lacy’s daughter, and I would love for you to create a piece of “tree” art for our hallway in our home. How can I get in contact with you to discuss the details?
Thank you.

I would like to know more about the pricing of your art work. I saw it on HGTV and love it and I need 3 pieces for a very large wall. Please contact me and let’s discuss. Many thanks
