Commissioning the Door County landscape of your dreams….

January 7th, 2009

It’s a beautiful, snowy Door County day and Margaret Lockwood is painting commissions…people who said “I love that painting but I want it… this size, or that color, or of this idea.”  Watch this site for an ongoing look at how she paints called “Margaret’s Wall”.  AND, if you visited Woodwalk Gallery this past year and loved a painting… almost- do what Andrew and Katie did and say “Could you do something like this only smaller?”

Welcome to Woodwalk News!

Woodwalk Events
If you were at the gallery this week you would see, once again, oh no!- construction. Several wedding couples have asked about putting up a tent and hosting a Door County fish boil for their reception, so… we are resurfacing the rear 35×75 concrete pad and making it suitable for tables, chairs and a tent. It’s a great venue for up to 120 people with plenty of space for dancing, eating and celebrating…

Also, we are pleased to announce that the summer Friday night music series hosted by Jeanne Kuhns is coming to Woodwalk in 2009. Watch for details.

Woodwalk will be in Milwaukee for Gallery Night

I’m an artist, how do I get to be represented by Woodwalk?
Each year 3 or 4 new artists are added to the 30 or so represented at Woodwalk. These are selected from 15-20 artists who apply. If you are interested in being considered, first do your homework and make sure you think you might be a good fit at Woodwalk. Google the gallery, study the web site, visit us. Then write us a letter telling us about yourself and your art work. Send it, your resume and artist’s statement, and a jump-drive, CD or photographs of some of your most recent works to us in the fall… that’s now. You will hear back from us before the end of the year. New artists are chosen based on merit, fit, our needs and ease of communication. Please note, if you are represented at Woodwalk, we ask you not to have your works for sale anywhere else within 20 miles. We sell only original art mostly by Wisconsin artists.
